I used one of the plug-ins to export submission into a Google spread sheet and something changed.

We have a field that collects the applicants resume as a Word document or a pdf. The field was shown in google docs as a full string link to the document. Sometime last week it changed to just the name of the document.

This has caused quite an issue with my client. They need the full string link.

It seems google spreadsheet is shortening most common extensions, such as .pdf or .docx, it does not with other non common ones such as .odt or .ods

However, I don't see the problem with shortened links, as they still work. You can even get the file upon clicking on the link.

The problem is the client does not want to have to click every link to get the url to the resume document.

Until last week, the entire url was showing in the field. The client was exporting the Google spreadsheet to an internal Excel spread sheet and pasting the url into their browser to access the resume documents.

Now when they export to Excel, I think they are just getting the document name and the link is lost.

How can we get it back to the format we had before last week?

I am not sure if this change was made due to some other users requesting the opposite. Let send a note to the developer in charge of this.

This is not true, we just did a test, and it works fine when exporting to Excel

And it works the same for LibreOffice (Open Office)

So in that sense, everything is OK and I see no reason for this to request an unnecessary change.
