    How can I find the field IDs on widgets?

    Asked by nchiro on April 30, 2015 at 05:20 PM

    The properties boxes for the following Widgets do not show ID #s:

    Image Radio Buttons (I'm wanting to change the font below the image)

    Button Radios (I'm wanting to move the element up higher on the page by reducing the padding).

    Unfortunately, for widgets you would need to use firebug (if you're using Firefox) or the web developer tools (if you're using chrome) to know the id of the elements you want to customize.

    For the image radio buttons, you need to use the custom CSS section on the configuration screen of the widget to enter the code you want to use.

    For example to change the font of the labels.

    And for the radio buttons, unfortunately, there's no way to inject custom CSS to it because it's rendered inside an iframe. But you can reduce the padding of the fields above and below to reduce the space using this code:

    #id_20 { padding-bottom: 0 !important; }
    #id_22 { padding-top: 0 !important; }

    You can put negative values if you want to reduce more the vertical space between the fields.

    Hope this helps.
