    Hi. I saw that there are some problems using Jotform and jQuery together. Are they still topical?

    Asked by mitilan on November 14, 2011 at 03:40 PM

    My site: i-look.spb.ru.

    Jotform is working but the jQuery carousel does not. Could you please take a look and recommend the solution? Of course if you have time.

    Very appreciate your response.

    Best Regards,
    Ilya

    Yes, JotForm uses prototype, this is known to conflict with jquery libraries/utilities which use the $ jquery alias.

    Please see here for possible solitions -> http://api.jquery.com/jQuery.noConflict/

    Its your jquery.jcarousel.setup.js file that is likely causing the problem.

    You can try this code in its place, it may or may not work as its untested: http://pastie.org/2864558

    (please backup your original jquery.jcarousel.setup.js , or call this one a slightly different name, and change the relevant reference to the file in the head section of your webpage.)

    Also why does your webpage have two JotForm feedback script embeds on it?

    Ok. I'll try the suggested solution.

    Two JotForms are used for:

    1. One for the always-on-top link (bottom-right).
    2. The second for using with "<a>s" on the internal pages.

    According to your question it seems like I need only one definition in the <head>ers :) Right?

    Thanks for the response.

    Yes. I just cant see any value in having an additional Feedback button script added to that page.

    Once the script is downloaded, you should be able to create a new button with just the javascript code. e.g

    <script type="text/javascript">
      new JotformFeedback({
      formId:'13164221082',
      base:'http://www.jotform.com/',
      windowTitle:'Запись в студию красоты iLook',
      background:'#FFA500',
      fontColor:'#FFFFFF',
      type:false,
      height:430,
      width:430
      });

    </script>

    and even then I am still not entirely sure why you need the two. But if you have your site working how you want, maybe its smarter to just leave it alone. Its your choice.

    Lets us know how you get on with the jquery conflict fix, my colleague has tried out the altered code, and it does seem to work.

    If you wish to use two feedback forms (or one feedback form and one lightbox form), then you can try instantiating a multiple "new JotformFeedback()" functions within the opening and closing tag scripts, something like this:

    <script src="//www.jotform.com/min/g=feedback" type="text/javascript">
    new JotformFeedback({
    formId: "00000000000",
    buttonText: "test test",
    base: "http://www.jotform.com/",
    background:'#FFA500',
    fontColor:'#FFFFFF',
    buttonSide: "bottom",
    buttonAlign: "right",
    type:false,
    width: 450,height: 450});

    new JotformFeedback({
    formId:'0000000001',
    base:'http://www.jotform.com/',
    windowTitle:'test 2',
    background:'#FFA500',
    fontColor:'#FFFFFF',
    type:false,
    height:430,
    width:430
    });

    </script>
    </head>
    <body> ...

    <a class="lightbox-0000000001" style="cursor:pointer;color:blue;text-decoration:underline;">Demo test</a>

    ....

    Cool.
    Replacing the jquery.jcarousel.setup.js helped. Thanks a lot!

    I'll apply your recommendation regarding the jotform setup in the headers today. Sure it will work as well.

    Thanks again.

    Best Regards,
    Ilya
