Dynamic form text passed from URL variables?Asked by Richard on May 07, 2015 at 03:13 AM
Hi, I'd like to customize the form text based on passed URL parameters.
For example, if the form url is http://www.jotform.com/form/10565343954?fullName[first]=John
I want the form text to read
"Hello John, please fill out this form".
Can you tell me how to do this?
Yes, that is possible. You will need to add two fields to your form:
1) A Text Box field that is made hidden, which will hold the customer's first name, as passed from the URL parameter. To make it hidden, please right-click on the field and click on "Hide Field".
2) Add a second Text field that will display your custom message. You will need to use the name of the first field as text in this second field.
Here is a demo form, which you can Clone to take a closer look:
Please let us know how it goes, or if you have any issues with making this work on your form, and we will be glad to assist you.
