Exporting as a fillable pdf does not workAsked by Julie Hobson on May 07, 2015 at 12:57 PM
I have created a great form with your website, however, the fillable pdf option is not working. When I go to export it as a fillable pdf, the pdf is created and downloaded, but I cannot open it with any of my pdf programs. I have tried:
Adobe Acrobat XI Pro
Adobe Reader XI
What am I doing wrong?
I've tried to create a fillable PDF version of your form and was able to do it correctly, you can find the generated file here: https://shots.jotform.com/raul/screenshots/IPC-Generated_Footprint_Checklist.pdf
I suggest you to clear your browser's cache to see if it helps.
Let us know if you need further assistance.
I forgot to mention that you should also try to register a free account since guest accounts are limited. Make sure you're using the same email address when you do this in order to get your forms automatically transferred to your new account.
Thank you for your help. I assumed that starting to create forms just created an account for me, but I see that I still have to register separately. Once I did this, I was able to view pdfs exported after creating the account.
I am happy that my issue has been solved. :) Graphics do not come though to the fillable pdf, but I can live with that.
It would be great if the "export as pdf" option was not clickable in a guest account, if that's really the issue. Having the export option clickable leads me to believe that it's supposed to work. :)
Thanks again for your help! My fillable pdf form is just what I need.
Thank you for the update about that Julie and we're happy to hear that this helped resolve the issue for you for the most part it seems.
Currently and unfortunately, the Fillable PDF Feature is somewhat limited on which fields work with it but I believe it will be improved more over the course of time as with anything else that we have updated similarly.
You could alternatively try to reapplying the Image that was missing with a jotform Image Field by modifying it further in our formbuilder to see if that might help to allow the image to show since our Image Fields are supposed to work for it. Also, we do apologize for the fact that the export as pdf function had confused you.
