Control sizing and alignment tips

I am setting up a form that has controls laid out left to right and top to bottom, i.e. the user will fill in the fields left-to-right across a line and then down to the next line etc.  I'm looking for tips to help me move the controls around into position without having to rely on the default size and alignment when I shrink or expand the controls.  How can I move controls to be in a very specific position across the form?

I'm also wondering if there is a way to have different layout options for different parts of the form, e.g. have a label width of 100 in one section and 200 in another.

Also I have added a date/time control and I can't get the individual day-month-year-hour-minute-second boxes to the correct width.  If I leave the Time option off then the date looks good but when I turn Time on the boxes shrink down too small and the time boxes move below the date boxes.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.  Perhaps someone can recommend a good tutorial to help me to fast track my learning on this.

    Hello bellspureice.

Please note that we can only assist you with one question / issue per thread, so I have moved your other two questions to separate threads:

When it comes to moving your fields to specific parts of the form, please take a look at the following guide Form-Field-Positioning.

These are some of the options at your disposal: shrink or expand the field, move it to a new line, merge it to the line above, or just dragging the field up/down to where you want it to be.

Please test the options out and see how the field positioning works. If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to let us know and we will be glad to assist you.
