Ticket Purchases widget is not displaying the available count correctly.

Asked on May 18, 2015 at 12:11 AM

I have a ticket template and I am using the Ticket Widget to track attendance in workshops for a conference. Each workshop has a limited number of spots. However, many of the workshops have an incorrect number remaining. For example, I set a limit of 10 for one workshop, and even though I know 3 people have registered, it says there are still 8 spots remaining. Help! I need the right number listed or else many of the workshops will be oversubscribed.

    Thanks,
    Jen

    Helo Jen,

I'm sorry for the trouble caused to you.

I did check the "Ticket Purchases" widget you have added in your form and I see the problem you are having. In the ticket type "Artistic Expression in Game Audio Design Workshop", you have configured count as 10 items. You seems to have already received 3 submissions with the above workshop but the widget is still displaying 8 as available count.

I am not sure what is causing this issue. Let me report it to our back end team. We will get back to you as soon as we have any update from them.

    Thank you!

    Hi there,

This is actually not the only workshop where there is an issue - there are several. For example, "Learn Design Thinking" had only 10 spots, but somehow 11 people are already signed up (I changed the amount last night so that it only showed 1 spot remaining - we need an even number of people in the workshop).

I need a resolution to this problem IMMEDIATELY, as I am about to send out a reminder to people to sing up for the workshops and do not want to do so until the right number of available spots is displayed.

Let me know if you would like an entire list of workshops that are displaying incorrectly.

    Thx,

    Jen

    Hello Jen,

I have already reported this issue including one of the workshop name which I verified form your form's submission count.

If you could send the complete list of workshop which is not displaying correctly, it would be really great and our back end team will be able to look into those workshops specifically.

We will wait for your response.

    Thank you!

Here is the list. As you will see it is well over HALF of the workshops. Therefore, I would like your team to look at ALL of them to avoid this problem later.

    Thanks,

    Jen

Any idea of when that might be? This is a critically time-sensitive issue.

    Thanks,

    Jen

If you are not able to solve the problem by the end of today, is there a way that I can play around with the assigned limits to make the correct number show?

Unfortunately I cannot guarantee a resolution for today. I apologize for that.

I believe a workaround might be to clone  the form and use the Gift Registry widget instead:

    http://widgets.jotform.com/widget/gift_registry

But please add the API key:

Ticket Purchases widget is not displaying the available count correctly Screenshot 20

    You can test it here:

    http://form.jotformpro.com/form/51383817534964?

Other option might be to add the Inventory widget:

    http://widgets.jotform.com/widget/inventory

It's not the same but can solve your situation while our developer works on the solution of the Ticket Purchases widget.

    You can test it here:

    http://form.jotformpro.com/form/51384190954965?

We'll contact you as soon as we have more details.
Let us know if we can assist you further.

    Carina,

Is there any way I can replace the ticket widget with the gift or inventory widget in the existing form instead of cloning it? My fear is that the link to the form is already out there, and people will continue to use it.

You can create a clone of your form and save it as a backup then replace the original form's ticket widget with the gift registry.

Should I use the original limits or reset them to incorporate the submissions we've already received?

The gift registry widget must reflect the already received submissions, else you can start receiving applicants over the limit you have.

The clone with the backup of the ticket purchase widget can have the original limits.

Ok, I did what you suggested:

    - Made a clone of the original form

    - Replaced the ticket widget with a gift registry widget to reflect the already existing submissions

I tested it out, and it seems to be working fine, so we will stick with this. I would, however, like to know what the issue was with the ticket widget so we can avoid it in the future.

    Thanks,

    Jen

    Hello,

We are thinking it had to do with your API keys (which are responsible for querying your submissions to get accurate counts) - we had a lot of trouble trying to reproduce the error.

However, We've made an update on all widgets that use JotForm API keys - Including Ticket Purchases and gift registry.

Kindly reopen your form on the JotForm Builder, and then open the widget settings as shown below -

Ticket Purchases widget is not displaying the available count correctly Screenshot 20

By doing that, your Widget will be updated to the latest version - one which automates the API integration process.

This should resolve the issue - and we apologize for the trouble it caused you.

If you have additional challenges - please let us know.

    Thanks
