Need help creating a certificate which can be printed.

Asked by Jacqueline on May 19, 2015 at 10:52 AM

I have asked this question before but can no longer find my thread and the answers I received still haven't helped me.

This is what I am looking to do:

    - My users need to be able to fill out a certificate template with their name etc. and print (do not require a submit button).

    My previous suggestions:

    - I cannot use the print button on an embedded web form as it prints funny and has the date URL etc. on the header and footer.

    - I cannot use the .pdf fillable forms as they are blurry and quite useless.

    - I cannot use the automated email response as when they print, it will show an email template.

I just want them to be able to print a certificate that they could hang on their walls. One page. Clean, not blurry with a logo at the top.

There must be something out there!

    Hello Jacqueline,

If you want to print a certificate which can be hanged on walls, you cannot simply print your form as it will display the textboxes and the buttons as well.

One way to achieve your requirement is to display the certificate in your form's thank you page. You will be able to customize the look of your thank you message as well.

Please take a look at the following cloned form and see if this close to what you are trying to achieve:  http://form.jotformpro.com/form/51384757035964?

You will have to submit the form and then see the certificate in the thank you message page. There are lot of scope to further improve it as far as the layout is concerned and that can be looked into.

As far as the URL and the date is concerned which is being displayed in the printout, that is actually part of the print setting and can be easily removed from the printer setting.

Alternative way is to create the actual certificate in the HTML and then add it in the thank you message. You can also create your own thank you page and redirect your user to the certificate page after the form is submitted. You will have to read the post data in your custom thank you page. The following guide should help you:

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you!

I guess when I embed it on my site, it doesn't look as clean when it prints. I will have to look into that. I don't want menus or modules to show up on my thank you page.

Below is the one you did. How can we format this better? We need to center and make certain areas a larger font (name for example).

I have cloned your form and made some modification inside of Thank You page HTML to position certificate  on center. You can clone my form and copy HTML code that is inside of Thank You page and paste it inside of your form.

Then you can additionally change the font size inside of Thank you page.

My Thank you page looks like this.

Hope this will help. Let us know if you need further assistance.

It is still very small on the page when printing. Is there anyway we can make it larger so it fills the page?

When I choose print option for page, page will fit the paper. It is related to print settings and not settings that are made inside of JotForm.

You need to change settings for your printer in order to expand page to fit paper.

    This guide may help you.

    Hope this will help.
