Several times with various forms I've entered Designer and it has automatically changed the form font on me. Sometimes it makes the font much larger and sometime much smaller. I've made sure not to click the button too many times to ensure I haven't accidentally clicked something but it does it on it's own. Is this a known issue or a bug?
If I exit without saving it reverts to my initial form state but it's preventing me from making some customization that I would like to make.
Also, it is inconsistent, meaning I doesn't happen every time I enter designer...just most of the time. So, I've have to enter and exit several times until it opens normally and doesn't change the font automatically.
The attached screenshot is of the form as it should be.

I apologizes for this issue, but have you tried on different web browser, also are you using updated version of your web browser, I have tried several times, it doesn't change the font size at all, I am using Google Chrome. Try to clear your web browser cache. It may resolve the issue. Please review the following screenshot.

My preferred browser is Safari and, yes, I am using the updated version.
Is Safari not a supported browser? If not, I can begin using Chrome, I just prefer Safari.
I will clear my browser cache to see if that will help resolve the issue.

Safari is a supported browser, I just asked if you're not using updated version of your web browser. Please try to clear your web browser cache, and let us know if it helps.

I have this same issue and I've experienced it on a PC using Chrome.

Its possible that Jotform defaults the Base Font to minimum the first time the Design View tabs for Font Size are clicked. And the same for Line Layout. And since I never set these and save them when creating a new form, they may shrink the first time either the Font or Line Layout tabs are expanded. I have not tested this theory.
Instead I've learned to avoid stepping on this land-mine.
But I'm concerned that if my users accidentally access the Design View, and merely click on the Font Options, they may corrupt the form inadvertently.
I suggest there should be a "Set" or "Complete" button on each tab to save any changes. (And prevent changes unless pressed.)

I've created a cloned version of your form and was unable to reproduce the issue.
When I opened the font options tab.
And when I opened the line layout tab.
Can you try to create a cloned version of your form and see if this also happens on the cloned version?

I cleared Safari's cache, as requested. I created a cloned version and have been able to recreate the issue using Safari. I don't believe it is caused by the web browser cache.
Please note, when I use Safari it will randomly change the font size when I enter Designer. HOWEVER, when I use Chrome it won't change it automatically when I enter Designer but it will (like it does for sjpd) change the font to the smallest size when I click on the Font Options tab.

Thank you for providing us with this additional information.
I've made further tests using Safari 8 in OSX Yosemite and was able to reproduce the issue. It seems like this issue is specific to Safari since I was also able to reproduce on Chrome for Mac.
Let me pass this along to our back end team so they can take a look at it.
We'll keep you updated here for any updates we have about this.

As of now the bug ticket submitted is still on opened status and currently assigned to one of our developer.
Unfortunately, there was no recent update on the status yet.
Our developer will post response here as soon as new update is available.
