If I understood correctly, if you want to remove the background image from your form, do as follows:
1 - Open your form in edit mode, click Designer, then click on Backgroun Image, click the red X, as shown below:
The background image will be removed.
On the other hand, if you would like to remove the images you have had to upload to be used as background, as shown below (taken from my form builder):
For those, up to now there is no a way to remove/delete the uploaded background images since there is no point to delete those images as they were uploaded to be used in forms, for instance, if you have uploaded a logo of your Company, removing it the form will show an empty space for the missing image.
However, I find it is a very interesting question, I will forward a feature request to our developers so they can consider the implementation of allowing to delete uploaded the background images whenever are considered for no longer use.
You will be contacted via this thread once they have an update on this matter.
If you need further assistance please let us know.

Any update on this? I have several uploaded images that are very similar and wish I could just delete the ones I no longer intend to use.

I have checked status of this ticket and it is still opened. At the moment it is not possible to delete uploaded images inside of Form Designer.
However it is possible to delete them inside of Form Builder. When adding image field to your form or when you click on Wizard option of image field, Image wizard will be shown. Select Choose From Existing Images option.
List of uploaded images will be shown. Select image that you want to delete and click on Delete selected image option.
It is not possible to delete multiple images at once. You will need to delete them one by one.
If possibility to deleted uploaded images inside of Form Designer is implemented, we will let you know via this thread.
Feel free to contact us if you have any other questions.

This is a great workaround! Thank you so much.
