How can I return the fillable spaces to their original size on the template, after mistakenly changing them?Asked by Paul Langley on June 05, 2015 at 10:26 AM
I designed a new form using one of your templates. The fillable space for the applicant's name is too small. I chatted with someone from JotForm who was very helpful and explained how to make the spaces longer. After he left, I must have clicked on something wrong because ALL fillable spaces became large, the whole width of the page. I need help returning all spaces to the original size on the template, then change only the name blocks.
Sorry...I don't know how to upload a screen shot, or even make one. I'm old. My first computer was an abacus made with dinosaur bone chips. But you can find the form at the url below.
I am sorry to hear about your mishap. I would like to let you know that we have a form revision feature in place, that allows you to return to a prior working revision of a form if you ever make an accidental change to your forms.
When it comes to the width of the input fields, you can change them by going into the Form Designer, and changing the width of the form and of the input fields under the Design tab > Form Layout.
I believe you may have clicked on the small "reload" icon next to the form width and input width fields, and it restored the width of the form and the fields to be very wide. I have marked it on the image below in purple number 4, please do not click on that.
As I am not sure what width was there before, I have cloned your form and simply changed it to a more narrow one on my cloned version - 400px for the entire form, and 320px for input fields.
That is Design tab (1), click on Form layout, and change the width of the form (2) and input fields (3).
Your form would end up looking much narrower, please let us know if this is what you wanted to achieve: http://www.jotformpro.com/form/51555289607969
If I have misunderstood what you wanted to achieve, I apologize. I would recommend that you first look into Form Revision History, as linked above, and see if it helps.
