TextArea Autosize widget: add a word limit

I would like to limit the word count in some of the text areas so that submissions will be concise and also so that the page breaks in the pdf version, which I will need to share with a committee evaluating the submissions, will keep the response to a particular item on one page instead of rolling some of the text to the next page.

I am using the textarea autosize widget and I am unsure how to configure the settings for a word limit. Can you help?

If there is another solution (ie limiting the height of the area to a certain number of lines) I would be open to trying that as well.  Thank you.

I'm afraid that our TextArea Autosize widget does not support such configurations at this time. If you want, I could forward this as a feature request for our developers to look into adding such an option to this widget, but as they already have a lot of work on their hands, I can't predict when or if it would be implemented.

I have also checked, and this widget doesn't support classic CSS customizations, such as limiting the height by changing its appearance.

What I would recommend is that you use an ordinary Text Area field, which does support limiting the number of words allowed.

It does not auto-size automatically, but users have a little gripper at the bottom right of the textarea which allows them to resize it.

Please let us know how it goes, or if you need further assistance. Thank you.

    Hello,

This has been implemented - please try out the Text Area Autosize Character limit setting:
