Looking for a way to see how many items are left in the Inventory widget after each submission - in our email

What calculations do you recommend I use to calculate the "inventory left" so I can see the quantity in my notification emails? I currently have the inventory set to hide the stock levels since it isn't necessary for them to see it. But because of that I can't see it, nor do I see it in my notification email. I've been recommended to use the calculation widget along with it, but I need an example. I cannot figure it out. Please Help!

Unfortunately I think that my colleague understood that you are after something else. The Form Calculation widget will show you how many items have been ordered from the inventory, not how many have left and you can not use it in a calculation (to take the number of currently ordered from the total number) since the total number that was available will stay the same, but the total number of currently available will change all the time.

As far as I can tell, as I have mentioned above, this is something that would not be possible to do at this time.

If you can tell us more about what you would like to achieve we would be able to raise this to our developers working on widgets to possibly implement this as a new feature for the inventory widget.

I can get rid of the inventory widget and just use the calculation widget if that is possible.

I can delete the inventory widget if I am able to make calculations that are hidden to the user, but display on my email notifications. Is there any way to do that?

I would just like to confirm Laura that you are looking to have your email tell you how many items has left of some item in your inventory?

If that is the case, it would not be possible to do it with the Form Calculation at least not at this time.

I have also tested few other widgets that are similar to the Inventory widget:

Gift Registry

Quantity Gift Registry

Ticket Purchases

None of these offer this functionality neither.

Now what I will do for you is to raise this to our developers to see if they could implement this for you.

As soon as there is any update to this, they will update you about it through this thread.

I'm sorry, but I don't think this can be done in the form builder. My colleague has already sent a request to our developers. If there are updates, you should know it via this thread. 

You can use our API: http://api.jotform.com/docs/, but this is a technical way and requires a developer to implement it in the form.
