If more forms are submitted than are allowed by my plan what happens?

Asked by Monica  on June 26, 2015 at 04:27 PM

Do y'all notify us, bump plan up, or bounce back the entries?

When an account is about to reach the limit, you'll get a notification to upgrade so you must do this on your own.

Otherwise, the forms becomes disable and nobody is able to submit, therefore, there is no need for bouncing back new entries.

Can you provide more specific information on 'about to reach the limit, you'll get a notification to upgrade so you must do this on your own'?

Specifically, we are thinking of purchasing the 1,000/month subscription. At what point would y'all notify me? 900? 999? And how would you notify me? And how quickly?

I'm curious because we email a call for nominations to educators four times/year for them to nominate. This is our bread and butter. It is imperative that none of the educators reach a disabled form but we don't want to pay for 10,000/month for the year to accomplish this because in most months, we won't come near that amount. I'm trying to see if we can work within your parameters to make sure none are missed if we go with jotform. Thank you.

You'll be notified by email as soon as your account reaches 80% of the allotted submissions so that you can upgrade your account. You'll also be seeing a notification in your account indicating that you are almost out of space and to upgrade as below :

You may check the number of received submissions and storage space used in your account by clicking on the User icon.

Hope this information helps. Please get back to us if you need any further assistance. We will be happy to help.

    Thanks!!

So it's not only measured in submissions, we could also exceed upload space? If space is a factor, how do I determine how much space my forms will require/what plan I would need?

    Hello Monica,

Please be noted that in free subscription plan you can only receive up to 100 non secure, 10 SSL and 10 payment submissions. Apart form submission limit, there is also 100 MB of upload space limitation as well.

Similarly we also have submission limit in all our subscription plans. You may like to check our pricing page for more information on our available plans and its submission limit:  www.jotform.com/pricing/

how do I determine how much space my forms will require/what plan I would need?

Please be noted that upload storage space is calculated based on the file uploads you receive in your form. Creating form does not utilize any upload storage space and it is calculated only when you receive file upload in your form.

    Hope this answers your query.

Do get back to us if you have any question.

    Thank you!

I have reviewed the pricing plan and think 1,000 submissions would handle most months. I can measure the number of submissions I think we will need and select the appropriate plan. My question, and what I don't know, is how can I know how much space my submissions will utilize? I have no idea how to calculate that. Before we select a form provider I need to know what we will be in for regarding cost.

Also, if I bump up my subscription for a month, what is the procedure to move it back down the next month? Thanks.

If I understood correctly, your mainly concern is Upload space on your account. As my colleague already mentioned upload space is calculated based on files that are uploaded inside of your form. If you do not have file upload fields inside of your form, then you do not have to worry about exceeding upload space. However if you have file upload fields inside of your form, you can set maximum upload size of your file upload field inside of your form. More about upload field size you can find in this article: http://www.jotform.com/help/33-Changing-the-Upload-Size-Limit

You can also download your submissions to your PC or integrate your form with Dropbox or Google Spreadsheet and save your data there and then delete your submissions form JotForm to free available upload space on your account .

Hope this will help. Let us know if you need further assistance.

Yes. Thanks for the additional info.

If I bump up my subscription for a month to handle increased volume, what is the procedure to move it back down and when could I be eligible to do that? Thanks.

You can cancel your subscription any time you want. You can downgrade your account to Free account type by following this steps:

    1. Click on the Profile icon in the upper right.

    2. Select "Account".

    3. Select "Billing" from the left panel.

    4. Select "Switch Plan" on the free account option.

Feel free to contact us if you have any other questions.

If I go with your service I plan to get the $9.95/month option. I think we may need to bump up to next level up ($19.95mo) if we have a busy month. After that, we would want to go back to the $9.95/month option. Would I follow the same procedure as to downgrade to free as listed in previous reply? Would you prorate fees for that month? I want to make sure I can move back and forth easily between plans as needed depending on our busy times of year.

If you make a payment over the credit card option, then yes, you would be able to make a selection and switch from one plan to another.

So you can purchase Premium, go to Professional, move back to Economy, go to Premium, etc.

The rate will be pro-rated - based on the number of days you were on that plan.

If you subscribe over PayPal then you need to cancel the subscription and contact us for refunds.

Hope this will help. Let us know if you need further assistance.
