Maintenance message for custom "Thank You" URLs?

I just watched a coworker enter quite a bit of information into a form, only to submit it, get your "Down for Maintenance" message and lose everything he'd just typed. Frustrating, but I know downtimes happen.

This particular form is one that we're just using in JotForm right now, but it led me to the question: For forms embedded in web pages that redirect to a custom Thank You URL, what would the submitter have seen, the custom Thank You page (possibly leading them to believe they had submitted successfully) or JotForm's "Down For Maintenance" message (or something else)? Thanks!

They would see the same error message. Before redirecting to the custom URL, the submission data arrives on JotForm servers. So, if the site is down they wouldn't be redirected to the custom URL.
