Form Submissions: A duplicate of submissions is created a day after original submission in several occasions

The administrator of one of my forms is telling me that they received notification of (and evidence in the list of submissions) of a form submitted by a person on 1 day and then the same form appearing as a new submission a couple of days later.  This happened with at least two different people.

Interestingly, both of the original submissions were on 6/23 and both of the duplicates showed up on 6/27.

I can understand how a submission might be transmitted twice in succession, but on different days?  Is that possible?  I did not have any form limits set.

I have since added a "Unique Submission" "Loose Check" limit.  I don't know if that will help or not.  Does that limit prevent a second submission right after the first or will it also prevent someone from going back a day or two later and submitting the same information?  Is this done through cookies within the user's browser.

By the way, love Jotform.  It's a great tool.

    Thanks,

    Dan

That is strange Dan and is something that should not happen. Fortunately, there is Form Analytics that can tell us if the same person went back the day after and submitted the form again.

I presume that it would be a plausible explanation if only one occurrence was noticed, but several seem like a less plausible one.

Now I presume that this is the jotform: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/51673846605967 if so, could you please let us know which are the two submissions and we will check them out for you?

Yes, that is the correct form.  The two individuals are:

Joy Gutzman submissions on 6/23 and 6/27

The other is Amy Cabrera also on 6/23 and 6/27

both have told us they only submitted one form.

Hopefully this was just an abberation.

    @MVCCFrederick

    Thanks for the clarification.

When I cloned your form and test it, I could not recreate the problem.

Were you able to find any trace using the analytics too?

Hopefully this was just an aberration but if ever you come across to this issue again, feel free to update us here.

    Thanks!

Elton, thank you for working on this for us.  As of this morning, one of the users changed her report to us and admitted to having submitted the form twice because she couldn't remember if she had done so.  I suspect the other occurrence will turn out to be the same thing.  She had originally been adamant about only submitting once.

I apologize for wasting your time with this non-issue, but truly appreciate the willingness of your support team to help.

    Thanks again,

    Dan

    Hi Dan,

    You're welcome.

No worries. You can also add a note after the submit button that if the form is redirected to the thank you page, that means the information is successfully submitted.

Please contact us again if we can help in any way.

    Thanks
