What is preventing me from putting fields on one row?

I uploaded a census form and need the fields in horizontal form.   I followed instructions to merge to above line but it does not move.  Does the system have a maximum # of fields on one line?   I realize that visually a user would not be able to see all the fields but can the form scroll so users can complete all the fields on one line?

Also the census form needs to allow for employer to input as many children as necessary but would like to show only one column for children and let the employer click on "add another child" to open extra fields as needed.   Is this possible?

    Thank you

It's the width of your form, you need to increase the width of your form in order to allow more fields to be positioned in one line. Once on the edit mode of your form:

    1) Click on Preferences

    2) Then on  Form Styles

    3) And increase the width on Form Width section

On regards of the option to  "add another child", you can use any these widgets:

    Dynamic Textboxhttp://widgets.jotform.com/widget/dynamic_textbox

    Field Multiplierhttp://widgets.jotform.com/widget/field_multiplier

    Infinite List: http://widgets.jotform.com/widget/infinite_list
