You can try to use a Notifier Email instead of an Autoresponder Email. You just need to set the Recipient E-mail of the Notifier to the name of the E-mail field in your form. See demo below.

thanks but maybe I wasn't clear in my initial request. It's not a PDF of the completed form I want to send. The PDF is some content that I want to send to the person who completes the form. In other words I want to attach separate PDF to the email reply in some way. I don't see where I can attach a PDF to send to the completer. Can you help?
Unfortunately there is no way to include non form data as an attachment in the notification email,
You can however achieve to send the user a copy of the pdf as a downloadable link. Upload the pdf to google drive or dropbox then include the link in the email notification, this way the users can click the link to download the PDF
