How can I add a static number into the Matrix box?

I have created an example using a matrix (showing the teachers how I want the form to be filled out), how can I put a static number in a matrix text box?

Also, I want to validate the numbers in a matrix text box, so that the teachers cannot make a mistake inputting the numbers.  For instance, I have 5 columns across,  1, 1, 2, 3, 4.  They cannot fill in a 4, into a column header of 1.  I would like an error to appear if that happens.  Is this possible?  I tried the tools in conditions, but I am done playing, and I would appreciate an answer.  Thanks so much!  Cathy

Since we can assist with only one issue / question per thread, I have moved your question about validation to a new thread here: http://www.jotform.com/answers/606037 where we will be answering it shortly.

I presume that this is the form in questions: http://www.jotform.us/form/51796285342160

Now this would be possible, but in that case, the field would not be possible to fill out - only a number would be shown in its place.

Would that be what you are looking for, or are you looking to have the number in the field and then allow them to remove it to enter their own number?

Hi and thank-you for your assistance! It is just an example matrix, so I
would just need a static number in a matrix field (text box). cz

I'm not sure that I fully understand what you meant so I do apologize in advance.

It seems that you either want a matrix kinda resembling how you have it with numbers in front?

Or perhaps you meant that you want a matrix with numbers inside textboxes possibly?

    Please correct me if needed.

Hi,    I have a matrix, that I added for an example on how to fill in that portion of the form.  I just want to fill in one of the text boxes of the example matrix with one number, so they can see how to fill in the form.

    Hello czawodzi,

That means you want to add static value in one of the textbox of the matrix question. Is that correct?

Let me do further tests and get back to you if this is possible.

    Thank you!

Yes, just one number that will always be in the example.

We can populate a Matrix Text Box input with a help of conditional logic.

Here is an example where we populate "1" to the first Text Box on the Matrix field.
