    Breaking site's Javascript?

Asked by branndon on September 10, 2010 at 05:21 PM

I have tried on three different Drupal based sites now. If I embed the entire source code of the form, so I can further tweak the styling, it kills almost all of the other javascript on the page.

I searched the form for "breaks javascript" and only one post came up.

Well, you can check and post the javascript error message.Another possibility is that some other script on your page might have conflict. Does the same happen if you make an empty page on dreamweaver and add the code on it? If it does, can you post it to a web page and post the URL on this forum?

Shows my test server. You'll notice on the product page with the large form on the top right of the page, no javascript works (you can see me hover over the little icons and over the menu, both have javascript actions). When I am on the other page, with out the form, you see the drop down menu works fine. You can also see my jotform code. I show you the error console, and it says nothing about jotform. It has a problem with lightbox. I have disabled lightbox, and that doesn't have an effect on jotform breaking my site's javascript.

Any idea on a fix? If I put it into a blank HTML page, I couldn't very well test it in an environment with other javascript that easily. I need to have it working in a real work example. Thanks for the support. You're always fast and helpful.

Probably because you are including both prototype and jquery on the site. Use the IFrame JotForm Code and you will not need to include the prototype on the site. Unless you need it for something else on the site.

I need to include it because obviously I have themed it to match my site, and also it pulls in some php from my site such as the product name. Do you have a solution how I could still theme it, and send a piece of content to the form, such as a product model number?
