    Form submitting twice

    I have a form that sends me 2 copies everytime some one submits. It also dings my account for 2 form submits. Why?

    Here is the link to the form: http://www.driftwoodinn.com/index.cfm/id:487 this form does not always create a duplicate. But if you look through my form history, you can see that it happens several times a week. The exact same form is submitted with in seconds of each other. It's almost like someone is double clicking the submit button and it submits twice??

    Looking through your submissions for this form you are experiencing this double-submission issue on I did find that it does at first look like there is a problem.

    However, looking more closely at this issue I found that it does look like some of your users got a little click-happy. This can sometimes happen if they double-click the submit button or click it multiple times after clicking it the first time thinking it didn't send right away which can cause this sort of issue.

    Usually if it's a double-submission based on past issues the date and time will often be the exact same. And if you look at yours you can see they're a few seconds off. 

    Also, I spotted one that the message was different.

    I would suggest that you enable the Unique Submission Setting on your form to prevent Multiple Submissions and set it to a "Strict" setting which should stop this issue from reoccurring.

    Thank you for reviewing this issue. I have taken your suggestion and added a loose restriction limit to see if that will stop the issue. If it is not successful, I will tighten the limits.

    If I use the Strict option, when could someone resubmit from that same IP address again? I assume it would not block indefinitely?

    Hello FireflyGuy,

    Please be noted that if you set your form's unique submission as "Loose Check", your user will not be able to submit a duplicate submission from same browser. Its basically a cookie based restriction. User will not be able to submit the form again until the browser cache is cleared or user uses some other browser / system.

    If you set us as "Strict Check", user will not be able to submit form twice from the same IP address. User will not be allowed a second form submission until the strict check of form is disabled.
