When opening my submissions for forms, the responses seem to come back as long code or jibberish. This is completely unacceptable!

We apologize for the inconvenience. When you upload your Private Key, you should be able to view the submissions one by one in the upper part of the Submissions page.
When viewing your encrypted submissions in the table view, the encrypted data is shown in its encrypted form on the bottom half of the page, even after uploading your Private Key:
As encrypted submissions are still a new feature for us, it may take us a little time to make it work intuitively. I have raised this to our developers, so that they can take a look into decrypting the table on your submissions page as well.
We will let you know through this thread if we have any more information regarding this matter. Thank you.

But I uploaded my key and still cannot see any info individually or in the grid. Don't you think you should have tested this before rolling it out and creating a huge negative impact on multiple jobs and businesses. I want to be able to see the information from what has been submitted this far. I want encryption turned off on my forms until you have this figured out and working. How are you going to make this happen?
- AlexandraAnswered on July 16, 2015 at 05:34 PM
Actually, I cannot see information in individual or grid! Not JUST grid mode. I have uploaded by privacy key and STILL cannot see the information. I will continue to post threads until I get an specific answer to my questions and issues.
I do not know what "a little time" means to you. That could be days or weeks. To me, it means 24-hours or less.

I have no way to get access to the information I NEED!
- ICFormsAnswered on July 16, 2015 at 05:38 PM
Still what I see (cleared cache, logged out, shut down my computer, logged back in, never access for my privacy key).

We are truly sorry for the inconveniences caused to you. I would like to confirm what steps appear for you, and how far are you able to get through the process of decrypting your submissions. I will label them as numbered steps, so that we can determine at what stage you experience the issue.
Step 1. Please log out of your JotForm account, and clear both your cache as cookies. Alternatively, you can use the Private Browsing or Incognito mode of your browser.
Step 2. In your Private / Incognito window, or after clearing cookies and cache, please log into your JotForm account.
Step 3. Click to view submissions of your encrypted form.
Step 4. You should be presented with a window to upload your Private Key, which is the file that you had to create when enabling your encrypted form submissions.
Step 5. You should click on the Browse button, and find your jotform.key file that you have saved onto your computer while enabling your encrypted submissions.
Step 6. You can close the Private Key Wizard, and you should see your submissions decrypted.
Please let us know at which stage are you hitting a snag, and please let us know if you have your private key file (jotform.key). We will await your response. Thank you.

Nope! A pop-up window asking for the key never comes up. I previously entered a key earlier today and every since then I do not get the window asking for the key. I just get to stare are encrypted data. So I need the instructions to remove the key.

I can see that the solution also provided by our colleague Mike in this thread has helped:
After reading that thread, it seems that clearing the cookies (step 1 recommended above) helped to remove the old private key. I am glad to hear that your newly uploaded key is working much better than before. We will be raising the other thread to our developers, so that they can check if we can do anything about the Full, Legal Name field remaining encrypted.

I had this same annoying issue. I solved it by unticking the "Create new forms as encrypted forms" in Encryption option in the Settings section of Account:
Hope this helps.
