I would like to apologize for the inconvenience this have caused you. However, you were redirected to a blank page because clicking the email link you have created will open the default email client defined by the browser.
I have tried clicking the Email Link you have created and it opened a separate blank page on my Google Chrome but at the same time it opened my Microsoft Outlook because it is set to be as my email client.
This shows that your link actually works. You can change the default "mailto" handlers Chrome uses by following the instruction on this guide I found over the internet: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/1382847?hl=en
I hope this helps. Let us know if you need any further assistance. Thank you.
Thanks so much for responding and for your excellent reply.
You're right, my email link is working - hurrah - just not on my PC!
I followed the instructions on the link you provided and it turns out I
don't have ANY mail handlers in my Chrome settings. Nor will it let me
type any in the (empty) box?
Maybe it's 'coz my mail client is Thunderbird and not an web based email
Thanks anyway. :-)
You're most welcome! Glad that you've verified that it is working.
Just an additional information:
If you want to have your Gmail account, for example, to be added as one of your handlers you can check this link: https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2012/02/Getting-Gmail-to-handle-all-mailto-links-with-registerProtocolHandler?hl=en
And if you would like to have Mozilla Thunderbird to handle "mailto", you can try to follow the instructions here: Make-thunderbird-default-mail-client
You can also check this guides and see if it helps:
I'm not particularly sure if it will work, but you can try.
Should you have any other concerns, please feel free to let us know by opening a new thread and we will be glad to help you. Thank you.
Thank you so much for these helpful links - mailto email links now work
