JotForm Encryption is causing text to show as some strange code which can not be edited

I noticed that Jotform encryption was causing problems and forms were behaving badly after the encryption feature or protocal was installed. When I try to reload the page, it shows some strange code that prevents anyone from entering the previous information. Check my website and tell me what is wrong because I have been forced to delete a form because of this, and I now have to edit each page on my blog because of this.

Based on what you have described, you are seeing the encrypted text in your fields.

Now, looking at the jotform you have mentioned above, I also see that encryption is turned on for your form, which is indicated by the green lock next to submit button.

What I would suggest is to remove the encryption of your forms completely.

To do that, you should first disable the default option in your account settings, by going to Account -> Settings -> Encryption and make sure that it is unchecked:

Now, once you do this, your forms will not default to encrypted forms.

OK, so now, you should make the forms non encrypted as well, one by one.

To do that, go to your Preferences

Click on Advanced settings tab and select No for encrypted

Once you do this, your form should no longer change the text into 'strange code' and will allow you to use it as before.

Do let us know however if you have any further issues and we would be happy to assist.

Paypal is not working, when I try to test my payment system, it is not working as before. Please tell me what happened because I have double checked everything and nothing seems to allow the payment system to work. Please check the system and check for yourself that it is not working.

I went through all the steps above but I can't read the most recent submissions - they are still encrypted. The first time I opened the submissions today, I was prompted for my key, which i uploaded and then I could view the submssions in plain text. Now I'm not being prompted for my key, and the entries and reports are in code. I've turned off encryption for this form and in general as described above.  Any suggestions are most welcome - and I'm hoping the jotform geniuses are troubleshooting any bugs in this new feature.

Kindly try clearing the browser cache, then try the steps described by my colleague Ben above,

I have also cleared your forms cache on our end

I cleared the browser cache, all temp files and outdated system files, and that didn't help. In the middle of the night I turned encryption back on under account settings and for the form in question, and then I was able to "view submissions" and copy the data that way. Then I reset all to "no encryption."

Interesting feature - I just didn't realize I had activated it and my team needs to get briefed on the privacy key business before we can all use it.
