Problem with Images and file download links

Something has changed since we created our last form a few months ago.

I'm having problems with logo images displaying on Autoresponder emails and the Thank you Page.  Additionally, I'm including links to PDF files that I uploaded via a separate form.

here is a sample link for the logo image:  http://www.jotform.com/uploads/SpanishHouse/form_files/Spanish-Imm_School-02_transparent_800px.png

In the HTML of the problem areas the http://www.jotform.com portion is being removed and replaced by ..

So the resulting source path shows as:  ../uploads/SpanishHouse/form_files/Spanish-Imm_School-02_transparent_800px.png

This obviously doesn't work to display the logo.  The same thing happens with the PDF files and the in the autoresponder email it reads like this:   Please click [uploads/SpanishHouse/51135839907967/313226487288544382/Spanish%20House%20Polices%20and%20Procedures%202015-2016%20Preschool.pdf]HERE to download a copy of the Policies & Procedures for your records.

Are we no longer able to host images and files in our jotform account?  I've tried directly editing the HTML but it still changes it back.

I'm in urgent need of a solution to this with a form that needs to go out ASAP!

    Hi,

The link you are referencing is the upload link.  If you click on that, the URL with the image displayed with be the display link.  For your image it would be:

    https://s3.amazonaws.com/jufs/SpanishHouse/form_files/Spanish-Imm_School-02_transparent_800px.png

That URL would work in your form.  I was successfully able to swap your hosted image with the one hosted from our servers via that URL.

Was there a recent change affecting the linking?  I used to be able to just copy the source address and go with it.  Will I need to update each of my older forms that were set up some time ago?

The last time I did a form the insert picture dialog box looked quite different than today is why I ask about an update.

I also can't seem to apply that same method of getting the link for the PDF files.  The jotform uploads link triggers an automatic download of the PDF and doesn't ever show me what I would expect to be the amazon aws URL.

There have been many updates especially recently.  I am not sure when the last time you used JotForm was so I cannot say exactly what has changed since the last time.  You should not need to update older forms, links should not have been broken.  If they worked before they should still be active.  The amazon URL is the actual size of the image, you may need to adjust the sizing in another application, prior to uploading the image.

As for the PDF issue, I am not exactly sure what you mean.  Are you trying to embed a PDF in your form?

You would need to have your PDF hosted elsewhere prior to embedding it.  If this is not what you were looking for, if you wouldn't mind creating a new thread regarding the PDF issue, we will be happy to have a look.

I created a form that I use to add PDF files to my Jotform upload space.  In the past I would copy the link for a PDF and include it as part of a CLICK HERE in the autoresponder email.

So the jotform.com/uploads URL doesn't work for those either anymore.  When I browse that URL, as I did with the image in order to get the actual URL, it starts a download of the PDF and doesn't show a non-jotform.com/uploads/ URL.

As of at least a year ago, this is how things worked.  PDF attachments should have always been download links and images, with certain settings, could be viewed but the links would still be the jotform.com/upload URL's.  Here is a previous discussion regarding the same topic:
