Basically I want to enter a number in one field and then have associated data that provide information about that number pulled into other fields. Then the rest of the form would be to enter new data about that number.
This may have been answered elsewhere but I didn't see it.

Yes that is possible.

To assign values on radio buttons, check boxes or drop down fields, you can follow this guide: http://www.jotform.com/help/301-How-to-Assign-Calculation-Value.
