How can we style configurable list widget to be shown in multiple rows?

I have had to replace my form collapses with the the configurable widget list because the collapses were not working on my form. I love the configurable widget list but I need it to be formatted so that more than one row can be assigned to each section because I have too many fields to fit within the width of my form. Can you please help?
