page breaks and printing ...

    I have a long form. I have tried breaking it up logically using Page Breaks. Works well (Back / Next buttons). Folk can go back and forward before Submitting (at bottom of last page). However, with the Print button as an option in the Submit object, it will only print the page it is on (last one). The other option is to put a Submit object on each page with Print button - but the danger here is someone will Submit before completing the next pages! So high risk!

    A solution would be that the Print button prints the whole form, but not poss as it is Browser page driven. Another solution would be a Print button only in the Form objects menu that could be included on each page. although clumsy as user needs to print each page to get the whole form and may miss one. Finallly, on a final page return a link to download the completed form (pdf) to print off).

    Why print off - signature needed and then sent byt post.

    An ideas?

    David,

    Try inserting a link to the completed form's PDF for the user to download and print in the form's Thank You message.

    Go to Setup & Embed > Thank You > Thank You message then click Next.

    Insert this link on the thank you message: https://www.jotform.com/pdf-submission/{id}

    The variable {id} will be replaced by the form submission ID once it is completed. This will generate the pdf containing all information submitted.

    Neil,

    Thank you so much. Makes complete sense and works perfectly. Much better than any of my suggestions.

    I continue to be very impressed with the JotForm, particularly the support and forum. If you want a review / feedback or posting, let me know.

    Neil,

    It worked in a way, but I still have a porblem you might be able to help with.

    I put the http://www.jotform.com/pdf-submission/{id} in the Auto Responder that the client receives as you suggest.

    It arrives as text only, no link. That makes sense. So put the link text as above as the link using the editor icon to access the URL box. But of course it arrives with the correct long number inserted in place of {id}, but the link does not work because of course it does not work. Here is the source in the email that shows this (long number made up):

    <a target="_blank" href="http://www.jotform.com/pdf-submission/%7Bid%7D"
    >http://www.jotform.com/pdf-submission/123456789123456789</a>

    Is there a way that I can make the target="_blank" href= take on the long number as in the text in pace of '%7Bid%7D' so the link is live for clients and all they have to do is click on it to get it? I am fine working in source code.

    Hope this makes sense.

    The thank you message editor replaces the curly brackets with special codes. This is no big deal as you can just edit the html source of the thank you message and replace %7Bid%7D with {id}.

    The link to the pdf file will come out nicely on the Thank You message.

    Can I know if this method is still working? I got error saying 'We could not find your submission in our servers".

    @zest,

    Are you referring to the PDF version of the submission attached to the Email Notification? Can you point us what particular submission and from what form?

    I would also suggest to please post this inquiry by creating another thread: http://www.jotform.com/answers/answer.php?, together will all the details needed.

    Thanks

    No worries, I managed to figure this out. The issue was caused by the %7Bid%7D string.

    This solution still works now, thanks!! :)
