    Hello,

Jotform contains to types of hints. The hint example, which is a display of how to enter data, and hover hint. When you hover over this field a hint will appear. I have create a sample form which you may clone if you like.

In this form I have placed a textbox to enter a phone number, instead of using the phone number field.

If you click on the textbox and go to the PROPERTIES tab, you will see to icons in the tool bar:

You can click on the INPUT MASK and enter the mask you like.

Once finished you just need to click OK button

In the same manor you can click on the HINT EXAMPLE and enter a sample text for the user to see

To place a hover hint, just click on the HOVER TEXT button and enter the text that will appear.

Please let me know if this helps.

@Martinellis4 please try with instructions @victormlj provided and also save your form when you make all changes on your form.

If you are still unable to save your changes, please try to clear your form cache and browser cache.

You can also try using different browser.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for the feedback. However when I have set it up on jotform it doesn't appear when I view the form on the webpage. Everything else works fine but the hint example and the input mask?

    Hi,

Are you trying to add an input mask to the Mobile Number field in your form? If so, I tried it on my end and I was not able to replicate the issue. I tried the steps as shown in the demo below.

I tested the form and it was displayed properly.

If you want to take a closer look you can try to clone my test form - http://www.jotformpro.com/form/52234075844960

If you are still encountering the issue, can you try to provide us more details regarding the field you want to put an input mask and/or hint example so we can further check?

We will wait for your response.

    Regards.

    Hi

No the fields I am looking at are UK Licence number and Licence share code. I have attached photos of what it looks like on Jotform and then what they look like on the webpage.

For some reason what is displayed on the Jotform designer does not appear on the page?

    Hi,

Thanks for clarifying this. I checked your site and I can see that the input mask is working on the UK License Number field but the Hint Example is not displayed. However, when I checked your form the Hint Example is empty or you have remove it. If it still does not work for you, can you try to re-embed the form using the iFrame embed method and see if it will work? To get iFrame embed code of your form, you can check this guide: Getting the Form iFrame Code.

Do let us know if the issue still persists.

    Regards.
