Problem with textbox widths in IE7

Asked by drsteeve on September 17, 2010 at 12:43 PM

When viewing this form in IE8, Firefox, and Chrome, everything looks fine:

    http://www.jotform.com/form/2502344288?

However, when I open up the same form in IE7, the textboxes for some of the fields are extremely long, and it messes up the layout of the form.

Is there something I'm doing wrong with the form parameters? Note, I get this error by using the error above and when attempting to embed it in my site through various methods (basic script tag, iFrame, full source).

    Any insights greatly appreciated.

Did you get this fixed???  I am having the same problem with IE7.  All the other browsers are displaying fine.

Not yet, I've exhausted all of the ideas I could think of. At first I thought it was an issue trying to embed it into the existing site, but when I got the same errors in the direct link, I wasn't so sure.

I tried starting a fresh form, What I was doing was that I was using the shrink option on each textbox, and setting the width of the columns to 40 so that I could get two entry items per line. I also had the form itself set to 700px wide. I would add a couple of items, save, and test.

This worked out fine until I reached about 9 items or so, and then for some reason I stopped getting the smaller widths and I saw the issues I reported. It may be related, but I had also added a CheckBox with 3 items and have it span 3 columns. But even after I removed this I got the errors.

I'm not sure what else to do at this point, so I'm hoping the developers might look into this or somebody else would have a workaround.

It looks like this is a problem with theme you are were using. When I changed it to the default theme, it looked fine. Can you confirm that it is working fully with the default theme?

We will look into fixing this problem on the XXL Theme.
