I understand that you want to send custom amount to be paid from your JotForm. It is possible to send custom amount to the payment field. However, since the custom amount cannot be added along with other products from payment wizard, the products should be added using checkboxes or radio buttons to assign calculation values.

Please refer to the guide below to assign calculation values to the field and how to perform calculation using the calculator widget.

    http://www.jotform.com/help/301-How-to-Assign-Calculation-Value

The products/services are added to the form by using checkboxes and number field for custom amount.

The calculation values are added to the checkboxes from the properties of the field.

The calculation widget added to the form to calculate the total :

The calculated field can be passed to the payment field by following the instructions provided the guide below :

Please see the cloned version of your JotForm with the changes :

Please feel free to clone this form to your account to see how it works. Let us know if you need any further assistance. We will be happy to help.

Further to my last response if i understand this correctly then this fix will send a total to the PAyPal but will not have the details of the products that have been selected, is this correct?

When the form is initiated in February of each year there are over 30 items for possible purchase by the user, each one must be captured by the payment system and by the resulting email notifications sent out.

    thx

Do you mean to say that the cloned version doesn't contain any changes with the changes on my form? I see that the form is cloned here and seems to be working fine with the calculation.

Yes. Since the custom amount is used here the total amount will be sent to PayPal. However, the selected options are available with the submission data.

When the form is submitted, the form is redirected to PayPal. If the payment is done without any issues, the email notifications will be sent. If the payment is failed, the submission will not completed and stored in Incomplete payments. Please see the following guide with FAQs on incomplete payments.

    Hope this information helps!

Thanks for your help on this, I did get the cloned form to work in the end, this method of doing the variable payment will not work for us as the customer needs to see 100% of the detail of the transaction and what they purchased from the PayPal transaction.

I will have to come up with a different Form just to collect the Variable amount, so your help has been very useful.

    Thanks
