Paypal Pro: invalid merchant configuration error

I'm having the same issue with the "

This transaction cannot be processed due to an invalid merchant configuration." error message. When choosing the paypal link, I can process payments just fine. However, when using the credit card option, I'm given the error message. Any help you can provide is appreciated.

As stated in the original thread, the issue is with Paypal Pro Settings in your Paypal Account. It's either the Paypal Pro is not yet enabled in your account or you do not agree to the billing agreement in your Paypal Pro settings.

You should contact Paypal and ask them to enable Paypal Pro in your account. Or, try doing it in this page:

https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/paypal-payments-pro

Click "Get Started Today" button and that should take you to another page where you can see number to call or signup online.
