How to set Sender Email (from:) to be the user's email entered on a form

    thats not what was was asked..

    we ALL want the option of having the from be the email the user typed in to the form.. any one using a support desk software is having problems.. because all the emails goign to our suppor sdesk have the same email...

    i have set my support software to take the reply email (user filled) to make a custonmer but this isless tahn optimal for many reasons... when i reoly to the support ticket created by the jot for,, my email adreesses the customer as

    "" we have received.. etc..

    not the best way..

    If I understand you correctly, you would like to send an email to the person who filled in the form and not your support desk. If I'm mistaken, please correct me.

    This is possible using the AUTORESPONDER EMAIL. To view a detail description on how this works and how to configure, please review our users guide, create autoresponder.

    No.. the probelm is when we use jot form with support desk software.. (SDSW)
    the SDSW.. uses the from email to make a “customer” in the sdsw system…. so evey jot form that hits our support desk is from the same customer..
    “bob Smith” , … so it lumps all requests from jot from into to one customer record..
    what would be best.. is to have the option to use bob smith, to be the from email…
    as it is right now I have to reconfigure my sdsw to accept the reply email (the one bob smitih used to fill out the form) as the customer email which is not optimal
    as the sdsw only pickes up the client’s real name from the “from” email address
    if jot form would add the firstand to the reply email field in my case it would interface better with my sdsw..

    I understand you want to have the Sender Email field be the email address of the person who filled out your form. Yes, this is possible as well, by using Mandrill to handle your email sending. :)

    Please take a look at our guide on how to Set Email Field as the Notification Sender Email Address with Mandrill. This will allow you to have both the from and reply-to fields use the email address of your customer.
