One additional question for you ... When I choose "embed form" and choose "google sites" and use the URL provided for the "gadget URL" there is no way to change from secure to regular form.

I have moved your new question on this thread to avoid creating new topic on the same thread.

Anyway, google site runs over SSL and it is required by their platform. That's the main reason why the Google Site embed code defaults to secure (SSL) embed code. However, you can still embed non-SSL form by following this guide.

    1. Go to your Google Site.

    2. Switch to Edit mode.

    3. Click "Insert Menu" and select "More gadgets" at the bottom.

    4. Select "Embed Gadget".

    5. Put your form's iFrame embed code (since it's iframe, you can choose to take SSL or non-SSL). Then adjust the gadget width and height so it fits on your form.
