how can I lock a header of a matrix while scrolling?

I do not believe it is possible to lock the column headers of the matrix field to the top of the screen while scrolling through a large matrix.  My best recommendation would be to break the matrix into two separate matrices.  This would allow your users to keep better track of not only the column headers but their position in the matrix as well.
