How can I get my submission date to update to the date that it was updated vs originally submitted?

I have tried to delete the current Submission Date and it stated that I would loose all of my current data about the submission date.

I was okay with that.

Then I added a new Submit date field and all the old dates are still there.

I checked the bottom of the form and found my new submit date, so I moved it to the top of the form.

So now I have both the Submission date and Submit date. 

Is there a way to remove the additional Date field and have just one of them update as they update & or complete new forms?

The original Submission Date of a form can't be edited, and it contains the date when the submission was originally made. This field is created and has its value assigned by our servers automatically.

I have cloned your form and made some test submissions on it, I believe you have received one of my test emails by accident. Since Submission Date is not editable, you were correct in trying to use a completely different field (Submit Date) on your form, where you would be capturing the user's current date and time of their submission.

I see that you are using the Default Date and Default Time features to populate your field with current date and time. Unfortunately, they will only populate a field with a default value, which means they only populate if the field is empty when the form loads.

I'm sorry, I can't find any ways to always re-populate these fields with a current date and time of when the link is opened, even if the field already contains previous date and time entered.

If it helps, when you have Email Notifications set up, you should receive an email notification every time that an existing submission is edited. The subject for edited submissions will start with EDIT.

This should help in identifying when submissions have been edited. I hope it helps.
