Can submissions from fillable PDF forms be exported into excel automaticallyAsked by Lucigen on September 15, 2015 at 09:16 AM
Can the content be dumped into excel automatically once the source has online access? E.g. is it like the online forms?
This is a re-post of a comment on JotForm Fillable PDF Creator With All Points
Yes, the data can be submitted online if you include a Submit button in the PDF, but the fillable PDFs are not quite like the online forms.
The fillable PDF will not wait for a connection to be established in order to try submitting it to our servers. Rather, it will only try to submit at the moment that users click on the submit button in the PDF. If there is Internet connection at the time, form will be submitted to our servers. If there is no Internet connection, submission would not be sent to our servers.
As explained in the article, fillable PDF also doesn't support conditional logic, calculations, nor widgets.
In order to collect submissions from your PDF forms, please make sure that the Submit button is included in the PDF, as shown in the image below:
Once your users submit data from within the fillable PDF, you will be able to download it into excel as with any regular submissions from our online forms.
I hope this helps. Please let us know if you need further clarifications or assistance, and we will be happy to help.
