Conditional Rules

I have a form that allows an employee to submit a request, which goes to their supervisor. I have setup rules so that when the supervisor opens it he can check a box to "approve" the request and he hits submit again, but it doesn't re-process the conditional rules and send the "approval email" back to the staff member.

I had asked about this about a year ago and you guys said it doesn't process the rules after its initial submission.

So IM wondering, has the coding been updated to allow the rules to process after initial submission, or how can I solve my issue? You had also mentioned that maybe when the supervisor resubmits it, it would simply dump the contents into a NEW form, and send that back to the employee? I'm open to ideas and how to do what I need it to. BUT, I really need this form to route back to the employee after its approval.

You can create a condition email that will send to the email address of the employee.

We will use the notification email in this case.

Create a new notification email as you normally would.

Next we will create a conditional email that evaluates the supervisor action e.g if a certain field is filled by the supervising person an email will be sent to the employee using the above notification we created.

We will paste the name of the employee email field in the recipient section of the conditional email

Here is a short GIF for the condition setup

Please note you will have to include the edit submission link in the first email that is sent to the supervisor since the above condition will work for editing submissions.

You can read more about setting up form submissions edit link to be sent in the emails in this guide

Here is a link to the demo form that you can clone for your testing purposes.
