We currently do not have direct SMS API integration in our forms, however you can manage to send a message by sending the form post values to a custom PHP page where you can then pass the posted data to your SMS function.
Kindly refer to this page on how to send post data to a custom PHP page.

I did some more research and found out we do have an application that will allow you to send text in jotform, sorry for the earlier more longer approach.
You can access the application here http://apps.jotform.com/app/jottext
Kindly let us know if this addresses your needs.

Looks like Pengu (jotText) is already shut down. In this case, you should setup the SMS confirmation through Zapier - Twilio Integration:
You need to have a Twilio account in order to use this integration. The steps are very straightforward, just simply click "Start Using This" and follow the next steps.
You can also send an SMS through IFTTT:

Can you tell us what SMS gateway are you using? Is it supported by Jotform - Zapier integration? You can use it if it's supported like Twilio. But if you have other SMS gateway you can use Jotform's feature, sending post data using php to thank you page, as suggested by my colleague. From there, you can set your PHP script to send SMS via your own gateway.
