Forms not working. It displays 502 Bad gateway error message.

Asked by Eduardo  on September 20, 2015 at 09:53 AM

First, when going to the page with the form (http://www.armadillos.com.ar/juguetes/puntos-de-venta/) I get a 403 error (that´s due to how the htaccess file is configured, otherwise I would get a 404 error) because it tries to reach the following link: http://armadillos.com.ar/opt/geo.ip.php. This error I see it in my cpanel, but the page shows fine. However, when filling the form and submitting, it doesn´t work. it stays trying to connect, but never ends the task of submitting it. Well, it finally did submit it, but it took a loooong time, too long for a form. I tried using iframe (read it in another thread regarding the opt/geo.ip.php) but still, it didn´t work, and finally I got the following error:

      502 Bad Gateway nginx/1.9.3

I don´t know if the opt/geo.ip.php is related to the time it´s taking for the form to process, but in any case, something is not right.

    Thank you for your time.

    Regards,

    Eduardo

    Hello Eduardo,

I did check both of the web page URL you have shared and both of them show 404 error message. Please check the screenshot below:

I would suggest you to please let us know your form id / URL where you are getting the " 502 Bad Gateway nginx/1.9.3" error message and we will take a look. I did check few of your last edited form and it seems to work as expected.

We will wait for your response.

    Thank you!

    New response receivedHi Ashwin.
    The link is www.armadillos.com.ar/juguetes/puntos-de-venta
I saw you did some form testing and they worked. Maybe it was a moment that something wasn´t working right.
I still get the 403 error (which would normally be a 404) every time the page with the form shows due to the opt/geo.ip.php that the form calls up.
    Thank you for your time.
    Regards.

    Hello Eduardo,

This time I was able to open your web page where you have embedded your form. I was able to successfully able to submit your form without any problem. Please check the screenshot below:

I also checked your form "Formulario de Datos // Armadillos" and do not see any reason why you should get "502 Bad Gateway nginx/1.9.3" error message.

I am not sure where the form is calling opt/geo.ip.php. Can you please explain where you see this php file being called?

Can you please also confirm if you are having this issue with only any specific browser? I would also suggest you to please share a screenshot of the problem as well and we will take a look. The following guide should help yo how to upload image in forum post:  http://www.jotform.com/answers/277033

We will wait for your response.

    Thank you!

    New response receivedHi Ashwin.
Apparently the form is working now.
Regarding the opt/geo.ip.php, the form was calling it and it appeared in my "latest visitors", within the cpanel. It didn´t show in the form page. However, it´s not calling it anymore. You must have fixed it. There was another person that had the same thing last week.(http://www.jotform.com/answers/665426-Getting-a-404-Not-Found-on-Geo-IP-PHP-file-on-Embedded-Form#2).
    So everything is fine now.
    Thank you for your time.
    Regards.

    Hi Eduardo,

    That's great to know.

Yes, I actually forwarded the thread to our developers, but that is already marked as resolved so I'm sure our developers had fixed the Geo IP thing.

Please contact us again if there are any problems.

    Thanks
