Can Formulas Be Used in Forms to Show the Results of Calculations Performed on Field Values?Asked by tinman230 on September 25, 2015 at 08:55 PM
I would like to have a numerical value that is calculated according to addition and multiplication or subtraction from values that are entered by the person completing the form.
Example, question 1 = 2, question 3 = 7. I want a formula to say (difference in questions one and three = 5)
Yes, this is quite doable, as illustrated in this demo. Just include a Form Calculation widget in the form (see How to Add a Widget to Your Form) to capture the values entered in the relevant fields and put the requisite expression to output the desired result. If you were to clone the demo and open the calculation field's wizard
you'd see the following expression in its work area:
That widget is capable of performing fairly complex calculations but that's the general idea. If you need more assistance with this, please inform us.
I found it after submitting the question. I've already applied two of them. Thanks for the help. Great product.
Thank you for letting us know all is good now.
On behalf of our colleague Abajan, you are quite welcome.
