    Configurable list responses are not being shown in Submissions Panel if submitted over Safari

    Asked by belgllc on September 30, 2015 at 12:30 PM

    Hi,

    I'm using the Configurable List widget and when my registrants add names in the Delegate List they do not show up on submissions. This was working fine a couple days ago but today it isn't working. Please help, I have people registering and without this list I have no idea who they are bringing to the conference.

    As a follow up, it seems to work when using Safari but not Google Chrome or Internet Explorer.

    Sorry for inconvenience this may caused you.

    I have logged in to your account and I inspected your submissions and latest two submissions have data for Delegate List. I have checked in Chrome and Firefox and I submissions are the same.

    However I did notice that there is no data in previous submissions for Delegate List field. When I inspected revision history of your form I noticed that you made some changes on your form in today and in past few days. Maybe that field was not required so you users did not enter any data.

    Please check again your submission in Chrome and see if there is data for Delegate List field in last two submissions.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Hello,

    I have had a couple people test the form by adding in registrations and those added in the delegate list are not showing up. My mother in law tested it from Safari and I did not receive any of her "registrants" in the delegates' list.

    What could be going on?

    Can you please tell us her email or submission ID so that we can check that specific submission for you to see what might be the issue.

    Also, what was the system on which this happened. We will try to test this on the closest match of the same.

    Hi,

    One of the last submissions that came in, I'm not sure what system was used; however, the email address is shahidk@xavier.edu. The registrant definitely submitted a delegate list but it isn't showing up.

    My mother-in-law submitted her form using Safari and the email address used is: joanngilberrt1@verizon.net

    Please help!

    Ok, I have registered using Safari, Chrome and Firefox and all show a delegate list when entered. They are the last 3 submissions received all from shavalyea.gilbert@gmail.com.

    I have a Mac so I can't test using Internet Explorer. I'm so confused as to how it's working for me but not when others submit. This is a huge problem. Please help me figure this out if you can.

    Hi,

    I cloned your form and made some test submission. But I'm unable to replicate the problem. I tested it on Windows 10 Chrome (latest version), IE, Firefox (latest). I do not have a Mac computer, but I've tried testing it using a simulator, I tested my form on a Mac OS El Capitan on Safari, but I'm still unable to replicate the problem.

    However, I noticed that from 9/10/2015-10/01/2015, out of 17 submissions, 13 of them don't have a Delegate List. The remaining 4 are the latest submissions that has the delegate list. Did you use a different widget for the "Delegate List" previously? If that's the case, when you deleted that field, the data on it in the submissions will also be removed.

    May we know if the Configurable list widget is just a recent change on the form?

    Would it be possible make ask for your monther-in-law to make a test submission again? Make sure that she is using the same form you have. Also, may we know the specific version OS of Mac she is using? Here's a guide that she can follow: https://support.apple.com/en-ph/HT201260.

    We'll wait for your response.

    Hi,

    I have not changed the widget used for "Delegate List." It's always been the configurable list widget. I have not deleted any fields.

    I, like you, have tested the form several times and haven't had any issues. My mother-in-law has tried it again using a Dell computer, Windows 7, IE 11. This time when she gets to the Registration/Submission Agreement, she continues to receive an error message and can't go further.

    I'm not sure what's happening...

    Hello again,

    I just talked with the person who submitted a registration from Xavier University. She tells me that she originally attempted completing the form using IE 11 on a Windows 7 operating system. On it she could not get beyond the 1st page as the calculations wizard was not working. She then assumed it was a browser issue and completed the form using Google Chrome. However, her delegates list she added did not show up.

    One thing is clear, IE 11 is clearly having issues with the form. I have had several people mention this to me. I still do not know the reason the delegates list is not showing up. Any help or troubleshooting you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

    I have cloned and tested your form again and this time I was able to reproduce mentioned issue. On page three field "Are you registering another delegate?" I have selected both options and than I unchecked No option and when I clicked on Next button I skipped page 4. So I was able to submit form without entering  data in "Delegate List" although Yes is selected on field "Are you registering another delegate?".

    To fix this issue replace check box field "Are you registering another delegate?" with radio button field.

    And add new condition for that field.

    Here is my cloned form with radio button field: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/52744931902962?

    Feel free to clone it.

    Hope this will help. Let us know if you need further assistance.

    I'm not sure this will really help as the issue has to do with people adding names to the Delegates List but those names are not showing up in the submission data.

    I have cloned your form, made a couple of test submissions and here's what I found out.

    I have checked the Configurable List widget(Delegate List) you added on the form and you have made some of the fields(5) in it required(*).

    Full Name, Email Address, Mobile Number, Classification and Gender.

    Since you have made those fields required, submitters need to be fully aware that they need to fill up all of those required fields at least for the data to be recorded/saved when they submit the form. If any of those fields is left unanswered, the data they input will not be saved to your submission page or be included to the email notification that you will be receiving.

    You added some CSS codes to the Custom CSS tab of the Configurable List widget(Delegate List), that made the red asterisk(*) not visible on the widget. I would recommend you make those asterisk visible again, so submitters will be aware. Also, you can place some notes or additional instruction on that page as a temporary solution, that those fields need to be filled out.

    I understand that you have made those fields required and the form shouldn't move to the next page without those fields being filled out. It seems that the required field indicator on those fields of the Configurable List widget are being ignored when there is a Page Break. That is why you're still able to move to the next page. I also saw that you made the Configurable List widget itself required(*) through its properties(Cog wheel icon). However, it is just being triggered when the first field(Full Name) is not filled out, otherwise, you can still move to the next page without filling the other required field aside from the first field. Which led me to suggest to remove the other asterisk on the other fields inside the Configurable List widget(only if those fields are not much needed) since you mentioned that you only need to know how many are they bringing to the conference which you will be able to count using the Full Name only. By doing such, if the only required field is the Full Name field and it is the first field on the Configurable List widget, you can make the Configurable List widget required through its properties and the form will not proceed to the next page without filling up the first field. I admit that this is a temporary solution to the issue, but it might work. I will also submit this issue to our developers so they will be fully aware that the required field indicator on the fields of the Configurable List widget are being ignored when it is placed before a page break. However, I'm sorry if I cannot give you any ETA to when this will be fixed, but please be assured that our developers are going to work on it and will give you updates as soon as there's any on this thread.

    Thank you.

    Thank you. I had just figured that out :-)

    One other question, can you help me create CSS code that will allow the asterisks to show up on the required fields?

    I have checked the Custom CSS codes on the Configurable widget on your form and I've noticed that the original form labels which include the required field(*) indicators have been removed and replaced by the custom field labels added on the widget through Custom CSS. I would suggest you just add an asterisk(*) manually to the custom field labels using CSS also.

    .col1:after, .col3:after, .col4:after, .col5:after, .col8:after{

    position: relative !important;

    color: red !important;

    }

    .col1:after{

    content: "*";

    top: -42px !important;

    left: 59px !important;

    }

    .col3:after{

    content: "*";

    top: -42px !important;

    left: 86px !important;

    }

    .col4:after{

    content: "*";

    top: -42px !important;

    left: 49px !important;

    }

    .col5:after{

    content: "*";

    top: -30px !important;

    left: 77px !important;

    }

    .col8:after{

    content: "*";

    top: -52px !important;

    left: 44px !important;

    }

    I hope this helps. Let us know if you need any further assistance. Thank you.

    Hello,

    We apologize for this inconvenience.

    We've updated the Configurable List Validation Check -

    To make sure that you do not receive empty submissions, please make the widget required from the Form Builder:

    If you have any issues - please let us know.

    Thanks!
