Costs not being passed through to PayPal

Asked by simmsy21 on October 04, 2015 at 08:06 AM

We have a form, see link, that asks users to select the number of children they wish to attend an event, there is then a calculation to work out the cost, and then through to PayPal.  However in 9 applications users were able to select a number and a zero cost was passed through to PayPal - but this shouldn't be able to happen (i.e. they are selecting '2' but then no cost is appearing - and they are able to proceed).  Can you please investigate why this is as it's causing a lot of payment chasing for us.

I have checked the form you included in your post and cloned it. At first, when I tested it right after I have cloned the form, it wasn't working. However, when I tried to open the settings(wand icon) of the Inventory widget and clicked Finish (without changing anything), it worked perfectly already when I tested it. It seems that the Inventory widget needs to be refreshed. I'm not 100% sure, but I think it has something to do with the order of placing the fields involved in the process on your form.

Here's the clone form I have used for testing:

Please feel free to clone it if needed.

Or you can also recreate this section of your form,

The image below shows that it is working:

I hope this helps. Let us know if you need any further assistance. Thank you.
