    Field manager application is not copying fields between forms properly

    As a retail company, I create numerous forms to make life easier for me to get data from the stores.  Often, I find that I need the same data on every form, such as the Store #, and Address, and phone number for 17 different stores.  It would be so much simpler if I didn't have to create all that design work every time I need to create a new form.  If I could simple go to one form, copy a code, or copy a field, and then switch to the form I'm developing and paste the field into the new form, that would be awesome!

    For example.  I've got a "Customer Incident Report", which the stores use to inform me of a slip/fall incident, or something similar involving a customer.  On that form, I have a field where the person completing the form selects their store # from a drop down menu field.  Once they select their store #, I have designed the form to automatically complete the address, email, and phone number for that store, so that the person completing that form doesn't have to complete the address, email, and phone number every time they complete the form.

    Regardless of what form I design for our company, I seem to need that same store information on every form.  So if possible, could you look into a way where we could use same form data from other forms in new forms we are developing.  

    The workaround I've come up with is to create a "Master Form", which includes only these fields that I use for every form, and then clone that Master Form, rename it and then finish the design for the new form.  

    Sometimes I get into a new form design and I want to put something on the new form which I've already done on another form, but I have to re-create the fields all over again because there is no way to copy and paste fields from one form to another.

    Thanks for your time.  Perhaps there is a way to help me with this.  If not, I'll continue working with the workaround I've come up with.

    Hi,

    You can copy form fields from one form to another. JotForm "Field Manager" App allow users to copy their form fields from one form to another. For more information please visit the page associated with this application; http://apps.jotform.com/app/field_manager

    The only downside to this app is that the conditions will not be transferred with the fields. 

    The workaround you are using already would be the one I suggest.  Cloning the form is the only way to transfer the conditions along with the fields.

    I understand that the conditions won't be carried over but will it not allow me to add conditions to any of the copied fields?  I have combined 2 forms and now I need to add conditions and many of them are grayed out.

    I cloned your most recent form and I am unable to reproduce the greyed out fields in conditions.  However, when I used the field manager application, none of the fields are being copied.  I will forward this to our developers to have a look.  We will update you here as soon as the app is working properly again.

    I have two fields where they have to put in their charge account numbers.  I have a note at the bottom that I would like to show if they accidentally don't select the same numbers in these fields.  When I go to conditions, they are both greyed out.

    I am fairly certain the greyed out fields in the conditions menu are caused by the field manager app not properly copying the fields.  If you set up those fields manually instead of copying them, they should work for the time being.

    We will let you know as soon as there is any progress with the field manager app.

    That's not it.  I had already set these up manually because I thought that might be the case before I commented on here.  Just to show you, I have added another field with the same information and it is also greyed out.  I have these same fields with the desired conditions on 3 other forms.  I just cloned each form as I got one working the way I wanted it to.  This one I had started first and it had so many variables that I was having problems with so I quit it for a time and went to the others. Once I got the others working correctly, I came back to this one. These are all for our print shop so we are trying to get all their processes online.  Here is a link that takes you to the menu for the forms: https://form.jotform.com/calhouncollege/public-relations-printing

     

    You will notice that if the account numbers do not match, a note appears at the bottom that lets them know they need to correct that so they can submit the form.  This is what I am trying to re-create on this form:  https://form.jotform.com/calhouncollege/calhoun-printing-request

    I have moved your question here http://www.jotform.com/answers/764283 with regards to the grayed out fields on conditions. I believe this needs a bug ticket since we have this issue currently.
