Discrepancy between editing interface and published form when using Form Collapse?

Asked by MassArt on January 12, 2012 at 05:37 PM

Hi, we're creating a form (form ID 20054106428) that uses a Form Collapse element to "hide" particular items unless they're requested.

The functionality works, but the layout is off. In the editing interface, the content appears left aligned, which is correct. In our view of the published form (http://www.jotform.com/form/20054106428), the collapsed section appears right-aligned and squeezed into a column that doesn't otherwise exist. Please see the attached screenshot.

Can you tell us why there is a discrepancy? Is there something we can do to fix it? Thank you for your help.

    Thank you for contacting us.

I have reported this bug to our developers.

The solution is to add some full sized element before the Form Collapse element. In the following example I have added a Free Text (HTML) field before the Form Collapse in order to solve the problem.

Please give it a try and let us know if you need any further assistance.

While waiting for our higher team's message, you can have a look at this form and clone it back if you like so you could start your work:

I have fixed it using Free Text HTML Tool and CSS Injection, I've added a line above the form collapse using Free Text HTML to block the form collapse moving above and then hide it using custom css code, you'll figure it out when you clone that form.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you need any clarifications with regards to this. Thank you for using JotForm!
