How to customize the appearance of submission in PDF format

    Is it possible to edit the format of the pdf submission that we receive to our Dropbox?   

    Ideally I would like to widen the column of the question so that it takes up less space down the page as the questions are quite long, and the answers are short.

    UPDATE: We are excited to announce that we have just released the new version of JotForm PDF Editor.

    Yes, we have a PDF designer for customizing the appearance of the PDF submissions. This tool can be opened by going to your submissions page, clicking on the Get PDF option, and then Customize PDF.

    This will open up the PDF Designer, where you can customize the appearance of your PDF files. There, you will be able to expand each line individually that contains questions or answers, and if you Save the design, any subsequently generated PDF files should appear as the one that was customized.

    In the above image, I have expanded the Submission ID question by using its small icon in the bottom right corner, which is pointed to with a red arrow.

    Now, as this kind of PDF customization is still a rather new feature, the customization of the PDF submissions can sometimes cause issues with fields where you expect to receive answers on a varying number of lines. This is because the saved design would always have a predefined width and height for the answer as was set in the design - it no longer gets automatically taller when there is more content in the answer and shorter when there is less content.

    If you are OK with the above mentioned limitation on having a fixed / predefined width and height available for each of the answers, then the Customize PDF option should satisfy your needs.

    I have tried this and I can edit the form, but it will not save. See attached screen shot where it says "Report not saved".

    If you could have a look and let me know what the problem is.

    I think that is because of the length of the form. But I tried this and I was able to save it without any issue. Can you try again? We can report this to our developers if the issue persists to your end.
