Take Photo widget isn't working

I am having trouble adding images to form submissions. I am able to add an image at times but most of the time, the image will not appear when the submissions are viewed. Instead, only the file name appears. Also, when I am filling out a form from my desktop, I do not have the option of adding a file/image. The "chose file" button is gone and there is a black box in its place. How do I correct these? Why is it that some files upload while others don't?

Sorry for this inconvenience. The upload field you are currently using is a "Take Photo" widget. On a desktop browser, it should show a webcam capture box; on mobile it changes to a "choose file" upload button because of mobile API limitations, so that is not a bug.

As for your other issue, I found out after testing that the said widget is currently having issues—the widget isn't showing a webcam capture box as expected. As a temporary remedy, I suggest that you add a regular upload field to your form, and hide the "Take Photo" widget (deleting it would delete the submitted images too).

With that said, I have sent a bug report ticket for this problem. We will let you know if and when this bug gets fixed.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Hello,

We've made a few updates to improve your experience with the take photo widget.

Try using the secure link to your form https://form.jotform.com/50824111398150 to avoid failures.

The Browser API that the widget uses requires that the form be loaded securely (https://...)

When using a mobile device, the form will default to a normal upload field - this is because the browser API the widget uses does not yet support mobile devices, but the default upload field should work fine.

If you have additional problems, please let us know.
