Export Submissions as a Text ".txt " File

Asked by rcb2002 on October 19, 2015 at 09:35 AM

Hello... I'm back to JotForm cause I always loved it. You are simply perfect. Now a question: is it possible to get submissions directly to a txt file, particulary formatted (example, with a "|" between fields) and saved directly to any specific folder of my web server?! Thanks again!

Firstly, thank you kindly for your wonderful comment about us, we greatly appreciate it and also welcome back to JotForm! :)

If I understand your question properly it seems to me that you want to have your submissions received as a " .txt file "? Is that what you are asking?

Currently, to my knowledge we don't offer any out of the box setup for .txt files since the main options we currently offer for exporting submissions formats are PDF, Excel, and CSV.

The closest and fastest way to make this work like that would be through an email notification converted to Text Format with the | as your separator but, it doesn't save in that format.

Additionally, I know Zapier has an JotForm to Google Doc integration but I'm not sure if that would help at all though it's a suggestion.

Alternatively, though I believe it may also be possible to use Our API outside of JotForm if you are programming savvy or willing to hire someone to create a script to generate your submissions as a text file output to send or save somewhere.
