Zoho CRM Integration: Allow duplicate records to be received

    Dear sir / madam,

the integration for Zoho CRM currently has two options how it handles duplicates: either updating an existing lead/contact with the data from the form submission or not transfering any data in case a lead/contact with the same email address already exists.

In our company we sometimes require clients to fill out two different forms at different points of time and also need to create two separate records for each submission, even if they are from the same clients. Therefore we neither wish the previous data to be updated/overwritten, nor do we want to the data to be lost if the same email address happens to exist in Zoho CRM. I have tested the "Don't add Contact if it exists" option and it seems that this is what happens.

I have enabled duplicates in the email field within Zoho CRM, but this does not seem to solve the issue. Is there any way that you or we can do so that double submissions using the same email address are possible, so that data gets neither updated nor lost?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

    Hi,

Currently, as you have mentioned, there's only two available options for duplicate entries.

I tried to replicate it and was able to see what you meant, I made two forms, Form 1 and Form 2. I made a test submission on both of them using the same information, unfortunately, the contact/lead in my Zoho CRM shows only one record, and it was updated on the 2nd time of the submission. So to confirm, you would like to receive the same submission data and have them both in your Zoho CRM without overwriting the duplicate?

Unfortunately, I believe there is no current workaround for this. I will forward this to our developers as a feature request. However, I'm unable to guarantee that this will be implemented anytime soon, but rest assure that we will update you as soon as this has been added in the integration.

    Dear Charlie,

thank you for your response. Yes, in our case we would like to make it so that two submissions using the same email address would create two separate records, instead of the latter overwriting the former. As far as I understand, the whole issue of duplicate data revolves around the primary email address, which is used as the identifying feature for duplicates.

Thank you very much for forwarding this feature to your developers, and please let me know if and when the feature becomes available.

Unfortunately, the ticket was cancelled without any reason. But I think it could be something related to the API where duplicate records are not possible.  I looked at this at Zoho, but I couldn't find any guides or something that explains the duplication. I will try to reach out our developers about this and let you know.

    Thanks
