Managing multiple people, groups, and time slots using appointment slots widge

Asked by o_mfg on November 04, 2015 at 01:05 PM

    Hi.

I am trying to create a signup sheet for teacher conferences that will all parents to schedule times for multiple children using a jotform. I created a form that has duplicates of all the possible time slots for all the possible groups for multiple students in one family, but now I am having this problem:

Parent A signs up Student A1 for Group A at 8:00am and Student A2 for Group B at 8:20. Then Parent B signs up Student B1 for Group B at 8:20 and Student B2 for Group A at 8:00, which can't happen because there is only one 8:00am slot for Group A, even though that slot exists in multiple appointment slot widgets.

What I need to have happen is for 8:00am to show as unavailable for every iteration of Group A, and 8:20 to show as unavailable for every iteration of Group B. But I can't figure out how to do that. Do you have any ideas?

    Hi, Kevin.

It's close, but not quite what I need. I need to keep the groups separate so that parents of kids in Group A only see the Group A options and parents of Group B only see the Group B options. Is there a way to only show one or another group in the appointment slot widget?

Thank you so much for your help with this.

    Hi Michele,

To separate the groups, you can add "Appointment Slots" widget (e.g. Group A, Group B), add one drop down field to make selection and then you can use "Show/Hide a Field" condition to show only desired one. For instance, if the user select the "Group A", it hides "Group B".

You can see the example setting for this kind of scenario:

If you need extra information, please let us know.

    Have a nice day.

Also, I created a demo for this scenario. You can check how it is working or clone it, if you want.

That doesn't work. I mean, the show/hide works, but the slots don't count down. I wonder if that is because of there are 2 appointment widgets?

I did a test on the test form and was able to see the issue of the slots not counting down.

The issue is caused by the lack of space between the labels and the counter, you can re-edit the counters and add a space between the labels and the name, this should resolve the countdown issue.

You can clone a copy of my colleague's form and make the edits, refer to this guide on how to clone a form from a URL.

Here is a sample of the corrected form with one slot in B and A filled
